DVD Burner Crisis

Hi again.

Another of my computer issues is this:

I have a DVD rewriter. When I look at the icon for the drive in My Computer it's there reading as Drive E. However as soon as I put a blank disk into it, the Drive changes to a CD drive and does not register that there is a disk inside it. When I click the icon it reads - Drive E is inaccessible. Incorrect function.

What's going on?

I've made sure that I've installed the drive correctly, slave and master is correct, I have all the correct drivers, settings are correct.

I just can't understand why it can't read a blank disk and thinks it's a CD drive when I try it.

Please help!!

This issue is often caused by conflicting software such as flash drive drivers.

Do you have flash drives installed? Or exterior USB drives? Try removing them & any related software/ drivers.
