Re: windows xp registry curropted

What version of XP is it? SP1? SP2?

You should not go on-line without at least SP1.

I would recommend reinstalling XP & then installing SP2 before you go on-line.

To do this download SP2 beforehand & burn it to a CD. Then after you install XP install SP2 off the disk immediately.

Here is the download site:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I do not know how you can troubleshoot your current install if you can't use your mouse.

You could try Safe Mode.

Re: windows xp registry curropted

(What about your mouse problem?)

If you can download it to your machine you could then run a Repair Install which will leave your data intact. Then install it from your hard drive first thing. A good guide here:

http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Or else install it first thing from Windows Update. Any time you spend on line without its' protection makes you very vulnerable.
