msxml 4.0 not properly installed...

I bought "Rise Of Nations: Gold Edition" for windows and the install went fine.

However, when I try to play the game it tells me MSXML 4.0 is not properly installed.

Any ideas ?

[edit] - Ive found a few threads on gaming forums with some ideas on how to fix the problem. One includes reinstalling Service Pack 2, but when I go to the Microsoft site it can't/won't display the downloaad page.

If your copy of XP is legit this should download.

I cannot download it, but I assure you my copy of windows is definately "legit".

My "Rise of Nations" problem was solved by microsoft over the phone.

However, I still cannot load certain Microsoft.com pages or get windows updates. Should I start a new thread for this new/different problem ?

What error or behavior do you receive?

Just a quick review of this issue:

What Service Pack are you running? 1 or 2?

What Firewall?

Check out the options in these threads to see if they relate to you. (The Windows Update version is currently V5.)
