Keeping the updates

I'm running Windows Xp Media Center Edition. I have a slow broadband connection, and have spent hours downloading all the windows updates.etc from www.windowsupdate.com... I now want to format because I haven't done so in ages and my computer is a little sluggish... I want to now find out if I can keep all my updates, somehow burn them onto cd for re-installation later, but I have no idea which directoris to burn, or where to start. Can anyone help me please, I'd apprciate it greatly!!

Re: Keeping the updates

The installed updates are not in a reusable form.
However you can download them again and burn to CD.
See #1 on this link:

If you have SP2 as a saved download & a full version (not OEM) XP CD then you can create a slipstreamed XP SP2 CD as seen here:
http://www.msfn.org/articles.php?act...showarticle=49

nLite also has an update merger although I've never used it I have successfully used the SP2 mix.

If you need an ISO burner this a good little free one:
