cannot burn cds

I Have an e-machine and windows xp, when I try to copy cds from my computer to a disc I keep getting a message telling me there is no cd in the drive or the cd is not rcordable or else it is full. The cds are in perfect condition.

Can anyone help me please.

have you updated your cd rom drivers lately if not try that first

control panel /system/hardware/device manager/expand cd/select the cd drive you want to update then right click on it then properties then driver and scroll down to update driver you will be taken through the process of updating to the latest driver for your cd/dvd rom
