Unable To Minimize My Screen

My operating system is Windows XP. At one time I was able to minimize my screen while on the Internet. Now I can't. I can still minimize my screen while using Windows programs or Outlook Express, however, I can't minimize an Internet page. What can I do to correct this problem?

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

Place your cursor on the edge of the screen until it becomes a double headed arrow.

Then click and hold and drag to any size you want.

Also doesn't the box on the upper right next to the red X work for you?

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

I did what you said. I'm able to place the cursor at the edge of the screen and drag to size the screen to a desired size, however, the box at the top right next to the red X does not minimize the screen. It did at one time, but not now. I never thought about dragging from the edge of the screen. I would still like to find out why the minimize box does not work. It works for Windows programs and while I'm in Outlook Express, but not when I go on line. Thank you for your support, Tommy.

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

What happens when you click that minimize box? Anything? Is it greyed out? Is it a single box image or double? Does it change when you click it (the icon)?

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

The screen twitches a little, like it is about to minimize, but doesn't. And the box becomes two boxes, like it is in the minimize mode.

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

Is this Firefox or IE?

If Firefox after you manually reduce the screen can you then expand with the box and vice versa?

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

The double box icon indicates full screen. When reduced it becomes a single box.

You can only manually reduce when set to reduced (single box) screen.

Once you manually reduce the reduced screen then the function should be restored.

Sorry if I am confusing you But basically you have your reduced size set to full screen.

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

Yes, I'm confused. So, exactly what do I have to do to get the system restored? What box must be displayed at the top, the single or double?

Re: Unable To Minimize My Screen

OK ... I'll try

The double box is full screen. You cannot manually reduce this.

The single box is minimized. You have the minimized size at full screen. This you can manually reduce by dragging.

Once you reduce this to the size you want then turn off IE.

IE will then remember this as the minimized size.
