Delete previous searches

Please help with the following problem. I click start then search and a window opens. It says search by any or all of the following criteria below. If I want to search for cookies and I have searched for say cool etcetera before all the previous searches that begin with co appears in a window below. I want to know how to delete these previous searches. If I right click nothing happens.

History: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\History

Did not help - let me try explain again

I am a novice so bear with me. My problem is not internet related.I will explain in laymans terms.

I click start at the bottom right hand corner of desktop, I click search and search window opens - it asks what do you want to search for - I click all files and folders -It asks search by any or all of the criteria below - now this is my problem:

If I say search for cookies and I have searched for something beginning with co before , these previous searches pop up below , where it says any or all of the file name. I want to delete these previous searches in the pop up. If I right click it will not let me do anything. I like to check up on my kids without them knowing I am and do not want them to be able to see what I have searched the computer for.

Can you help??? Please try again
