DVD Driver Help !!!!!

Recently I Noticed A Problem With My DVD Burning Drive.....It Freezes ALOT ON ME!!!! And SomeTimes ill Press The Eject Button And It WONT EVEN EJECT!!!!!....This Usually Happens After I Enter Windows ....Ill Put In A Blank Cd In My Dvd Drive...And The Cd Is Not Reconized And When I Try To Eject It The Drive Tracy Wont Open Or Eject ItSelf.....Why Is This Happening....It Also Freezes Most of My Programs...When I Put A Cd In It...I Have To Restart My Computer In Order To Open The Drive......

ANY HELP I WOULD Apreciate THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

A first try is to go to the Device Manager: Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc

Click the + next to DVD/CD drives

Right click on the drive in question and choose Uninstall

Then reboot the computer. XP should then re-detect the drive and reload the drivers.
