crazy desktop
I have always arranged desktop items manually to suit my convenience, but recently they have started to change places randomly despite autoarrange and align to grid being ticked. What can I do about this?

Have you checked: Lock Web Items on the Desktop?

Have you got iconid installed? If not you may have a corrupt profile.

Thanks HappyBeaver I haven't got iconid installed. What does a corrupt profile imply? How can I pin-point that? What can I do about it, please?

Do you have another user account on this machine?
If so is the behavior the same?
If not then create a new account as a test to see if the desktop will behave.
If your current account is corrupted in some way you can transfer the data via:
