amdk8 error, BIOS

Windows event viewer source is: amdk8. The discription is : The Acpi 2.0_PCT object returned an invalid value of 4. Can anyone direct me on how to fix this? This error cause my computer to shut off; especially when I'm playing games.

Re: amdk8 error, BIOS

That is an error from your CPU often associated with heat.

Is this a laptop? Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

Re: amdk8 error, BIOS

The file was somehow deleted; maybe from my Evidence Eliminator software. After searching for the problem all day, I decided to uninstall and reinstall drivers. The file that was missing was from the chipset setup; something to do with Via 4 in 1. But windows is getting along with my fx 57 now and all is good. Thanks for replying.
