voice help on messenger

hey my names nagash and i cant start a voice convo on microsoft messenger, it says that the sound card isnt installed or that it isnt selected, i hav no idea about wat to do so can ne1 help me?

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

Look in your Device Manager under Sound (click the +) do you see any yellow exclamation points?

Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc

Also check: start/Run/ dxdiag | Sound

What is listed under Device?

rightio then, i dont c anythin at the moment, my skype account works fine so its got sumthin to do with msn

msn is fine its just that it doesnt read my sound card properly, yesterday when i tried to do the voice conversation it went through but the person on the other side couldn't hear me, now it doesnt even start it up, it just says that there is no sound card, or that it isnt selected

I don't have MSN installed but I will try some searches.

I would guess either your Sound Device is not compatible with MSN or else it is just not configured properly.

if its not configured properly then how do i change its configeration?

Since I don't have MSN installed I will have to look around for an answer.

Can you verify that it never worked in MSN? But it works with SKYPE? etc.

Have you tried any other messengers with voice?

These answers would be helpful and I will start to run thru my search bases for ideas.
