Home Network With Hub

Hi People,

I bought a HUB with 8 jack interfaces. I want to connect two PC's together so that Ican print to one printer from 2 PC's and I would like to access the enternet thruogh one PC. They are both quite new (6months old) PC's. I run WindowXP on them both. I had LAN cables made up. I connected them as is described by the WindowsXP network setup wizard. I can see the lights go on when I connect the cables from the PC's to the hub. Windows is supposed to set up the connections by itself because it is using DHCP/TCP as I have heard, but it does not. What could be wrong? Please help me.

Regards,

Llewellyn

Re: Home Network With Hub

Is this a hub or a router with NAT and DHCP enabled? If it's a hub you will have to configure the IP addresses manualy. If it's a router I recommend you contact the company that makes the router's tech support for help setting it up.

Thank you for the web site. It is very informative. I did not solve my problem yet, I will do so a bit later. Thanx once again.
