Something Fishy with software

This is an odd one!

Running my new system I have noticed not just one but most programs act very odd...

Running Yahoo MSG, and clicking on a smiley face icon closes out the program same goes for right click a users names to message them... *POOF* its closed out.

Running Lime Wire Current/Old version has very ugly results where everything is overlaid, covered up, blanked out command buttons and funny glitch effects.

Most Games will not boot past opening movies after system has idled for a few minutes but after a reboot due to lockup they play with no problem at all.

I have two ideas as to what it is, either my HD which I have posted here on [ Only SATA HD is safe to remove!? ], or my 2 Geforce 7800GTX OC cards in SLI.

Has any one Had or heard of problems like this?

Are you running SP2?

Did you do a Clean Install of XP on this board and drive?

Are all these programs fresh installs?

Did you check each one as they were installed?

Did you turn off Anti-Virus during installs?

etc.

Yes I tested each program after I had installed it still having the same problems.

The Programs were download straight from the company sites.

Re: Something Fishy with software

Using something like LimeWire without an AntiVirus? Something I would not recommend.

What I was drawing at was a series like this:

Installed XP SP2: all good: yes.

Installed Yahoo! Messenger: all good: ?

Installed etc.: all good: ?

I would install an AntiVirus before downloading anything else.

You might want to run scans on the current installation or consider reinstalling XP.

Also did you load all your graphics drivers?
