Arrow My last hope....cant pull info from laptop HD!!

Laptop crashed and I pulled the HD and bought a 40 to 44 PIN adapter to attach it to my Desktop. The computer finds the drive and opens it just fine, but when I try to open the user folder with all my files it says: "Not accessable, access is denied." I tried logging in as administrator on the computer and it still will not open?

thank you for any help.
