Serious Problem all of a sudden Secondart Master doesn't show

I've got a serious problem I've got a 200 gb that I use as a secondary master and 20gb I use as a Primary master.

I was watchin a movie and playing a game and I stopped the movie and resumed the game (the game was on the primary the movie was on the secondary) and the game I could hear sounds but had no picture I tried to ctrl alt delete out but I couldn't so I then tried to alt tab out but it didn't work finally I had to restart it a hard restart when I went back into windows and tried to open a shortcut that was on my secondary I get this message.

This has never happened before, is it possible I filled it up and that's why it won't show up?

Windows only sees 127gb of it anyway, and I only had around 2gbs left last time I checked and the movie was only 700mb.

127GB was the old XP limit prior to SP1 & 2.

I would reconfigure your drives to having both hard drives on the Primary. If XP is on the 20GB Master then put the 200GB as Primary slave.

Put your DVD/CD to Secondary Master.

Is it only a shortcut that you are having problems with? Can you open the documents directly?

So I had a file on my secondary hard drive and I tried to open it and it kinda froze I couldn't do anything but restart but it was a hard restart. I've tried system restore and I've tried putting the Windows XP cd in it sees it and it says it's label and everything but it will not show up in the list.

It will not show up in my computer.

I checked it and I made a mistake it is the Primary Slave my other is the Primary Master.

It knows that the drive is still there otherwise the CD rom would be D: well it's not:

When I tried to boot from the drive it just hangs. I really don't want to format I have 117Gb of stuff on there.

mostly games, tv shows, and programs.

I am seeing confusing things here.

Your E: is somehow being associated with a CD.

Whereas the 200GB drive is detected as unallocated and Not Initialized

This means XP see this as an unformatted hard drive.

But again it is confusing it with a CD.

Does this make any sense to you?

Do you have another computer that you can try to read this slave drive on?

Also are you saying that your slave drive has a bootable Operating System on it?

no I only have this computer. And it has done this before once and I got it back but I don't remember what I did. When I put the xp cd in and boot from it it sees the partition with the label which is Windows Xp Pro 200 and it shows it with 10 gbs free. And yes both of them have XP Pro on them.

Just to try and clarify:

Why are you trying to boot with the XP CD?

Why is XP on both drives?

If you boot to your Master drive does that work OK?

If so how does that detect your slave drive under Disk Management?

(remove the XP CD)

In your BIOS your slave drive is not in the Boot Order is it?

because I remember last time when I tried to boot with the XP cd it recognized the drive and I think it fixed my problem, but I can't remember for sure.

They both have XP on them because I had a crash on my 20GB and I used my 200gb for a fresh install then I saved what I could salvage onto my 200. Then I reinstalled on my 20 and used my 200 for backup and big files.

I can boot under my master which is my 20. Disk management detects it as unallocated and the bios detects it as allocated there's 10gbs free.

No it's not in my boot order but I've tried to boot to it a couple times to see if that would help didnt' work.

The only thing I can think of from the XP CD is the Recovery Console but I am not sure what option would help:

All I can offer at this point is what I would do.

I would physically start moving the drives around. Set all Jumpers to Cable Select.

Try putting the 200 on Secondary Master (replacing the DVD/CD) and boot to the 20. What happens?

Try removing the 20 and booting the 200 as Primary Master. What happens?
