Can't Get to Desk Top

After I start the computer and I log in, instead of going to the desk top, the computer gives me this error message:

Explorer.EXE - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

When I clik to OK button, the error message disappears, and all I get is a blank, purple screen.

I tried rebooting the computer (a few times), but I got the same error message.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how I can fix it?

Re: Can't Get to Desk Top

Normaliz.dll is part of IE 7 BETA.

You could try opening the Task Manager = Ctrl > Alt > Delete

File > Run > explorer.exe

If this doesn't work try booting into Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key after your BIOS POST but before Windows starts.

If you can get back into Windows I would uninstall IE7 or do a System Restore to a point prior to ever having installed IE7.
