Office 2000 didn't install

Hi Folks,
I wonder if anyone can help with the following please?
I recently upgraded from Win98SE to WinXP Pro.
The XP Pro CD contains MS Office 2000 and this gets installed on a clean install.
However, when I upgraded my Win98SE system, it has retained the old MS Office 97 stuff.
How can I now upgrade MS Office please?
Regards.

Re: Office 2000 didn't install

It sounds like you did an Upgrade or Repair Install.

What you most likely need is a Clean Install. This will format (remove all data from the hard drive).

Good guide here:

If your XP CD is an upgrade CD then you will need your 98SE CD in order to verify a previous version of Windows which qualifies the Upgrade CD.
