How do I recover data?

Computer crashed last night or what i assumed was a crash. When powered up booted up and got Microsoft logo that it was loading then screen went blank and showed box that I needed to check monitor cables, ect. Everything is connected okay.

So as last resort went to recovery and reloaded using the option to put operating system back on(not the full clean the hard drive method). Now I only have 4 icons on computer(way it came from factory). Looked on C drive and all my old programs and files is in a folder named (Backup). How do I get this stuff back on computer? Have hundreds of hours of hobby data(pics, blueprints, ect.) of Rc Planes. Can I recover this stuff?

Re: How do I recover data?

Who manufactured this computer? Whose disk did you recover with?

The specific manufacturer should have specific options and instructions.

Can you access this backup file?

In a worse case scenario there are plenty of recovery softwares available.
