Re: PC reboots while loading

That is a very difficult site to navigate.

That ROM file needs to be on a boot floppy plus it probably needs either a Flash Utility or a command line instruction.

The closest I can find from their site is that the flash utility might be available on a Recovery CD that should have come with the computer.

Sorry I cannot be more specific.

Most motherboard manufacturers bundle their BIOS with the necessary installer.

And just as I forgot to mention: If your BIOS Error was a Check Sum Error then this further implicates some hardware issue. You might want to test just removing the connection to the CD drive and see what happens or doesn't.

As to the BIOS: do you have a motherboard CD from Mercury?

Another angle would be to trace the make and model of the computer.

Re: PC reboots while loading

Hi,

Yes I do have a motherboard cd from mercury.

I removed the cd rom connection & restarted the pc but th same message repeated. Also it id not detect the cd rom drive.

In the beginning I wrote about the restarting issue. I unchecked the automatic restart box. Now it forces me to restart with this message

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

After restarting comes another message from windows promting me to send the report to microsoft
Here's the log of the report

Re: PC reboots while loading

If you insert that CD then right click it under My Computer and choose Explore do you see any reference to a BIOS Flash?

Also to examine these errors in detail you could do the following:

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your .dmp files.

Then:

1) Download and install the
Debugging Tools from Microsoft
2) Download and install this
debugwiz
3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.
4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

When you computer boots up does it show a key to flash the bios like "Press F12 to access EZ Flash Utility" or something along those lines?
