Post Please help me

Hello!

This is my first post to this forum and I hope you can help me...
My problem is a bit ''strange''. There are certain ''corrupted'' folders I can't delete or rename. I can moove a folder in witch a corrupted folder is in (as subfolder), but not the ''corrupted'' one by itself. I also can't delete a fulder with such a ''corrupted'' subfolder. The nuber of such folders is growing. If I try any of mentioned actiones I get this error message(es):
1.EXPLORER.EXE - APPLICATION ERROR
The exception floating-point inexact result.
(0x000008f) occured in the application at location 0x7c812a5b

2.EXPLORER.EXE - APPLICATION ERROR
The exception unknown software exception
(0x0eedfade) occured in the application
at location 0x7c812a5b

3.Runtime error 217 at 0213ebf1

The first message always, the second and third from time to time after the first...

This is what was logged in Win Event Viewer:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Winlogon
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1002
Date: 28.8.2006
Time: 22:12:53
User: N/A
Computer: ****-**********
Description:
The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I tried Scandisk, defragmentation, WIN Memory Diagnostic (found nothing). Nothing helped.

(I use Win XP Pro (version 2002), SP2, AMD Processor 3100+ 1,8Ghz, 512 Mb ram...)

Re: Please help me

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware or software?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Also:

As a first response you might want to post a HijackThis log for review by our Pros in that section:

Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.

(Not in this section please).

Please specify what issues you appear to be experiencing along with your log.

After they give you an All Clear return to this thread if the issue is not resolved.

I installed some security updates from download.com and also SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition... But I am a bit sceptic if this is the source of my problem... Do I uninstall the AS and see what happens?

No matter what restore point I tried - time before the problem eppeared, it says: Your computter cannot be restored to...'' and so on.

I was thinking It might be spyware or virus also, so I updated & checked:
Ewido found nothing, SpyBot found just some logs, Ad-ware just MRU objects, SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition nothing, Windows Defender nothing, a-squared Free nothing, Spyware Doctor nothing, Microsoft Malicious software removal tool nothing, Removeit nothing, X-Cleaner nothing, F-Prot Antivirus nothing, AntiVir PE Classic nothing, Kaspersky online scan nothing, bitdefender antirootkit-BETA2 and Blacklight beta nothing, Startup Mechanic found no new startups,...

I think it is safe to assume my computer is clean, but if you still insist I can submit a HijackThis log. It still might be a new type of spyware or something?

I searched Microsoft and this is what I found:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/94998/en-us

All knowlage base findings on ''floating-point'':

Any ideas? Its all greek to me.
