Re: random reboots with no blue screen!

I think that we've been thru this issue before. Is it the same computer? The same problems?

Without taking the time to look back at other threads I would suggest that if you have reinstalled XP via a Clean Install and the issue continues it is most certainly a hardware problem.

Test the RAM. Test the Hard drive. Monitor the temperatures. Remove peripheral devices.

Basically strip the computer down to the basics and if it runs OK try adding back the pieces removed piece by piece.

Re: random reboots with no blue screen!

See if this helps:

How do I run the Drive Self Test (Hard Drive Diagnostic) on on my Dell™ Desktop, Portable, and Workstation computers?

Re: random reboots with no blue screen!

Hi,
while doing the test with the 'strip' try also with a new ide/sata cable for you disk.
The most 'bare' config is to have only the needed to start your system. CPU, Memory,VGA.
cheers:
