burning
please help i would like to know why i can't burn my home made videos using windows movie maker,the disc's i'm using are dvd-r ,not very clever on my computer but willing to have a go. thanks from Vic

What DVD burning software do you have?
XP in itself does not have this capability.

my burning software is Nero,and after waiting amount of time to burn it says fault replace with another dvd-r and try again

Have you ever used these particular disks on this machine?
Are you sure that they are compatible with the drive?
You might try formatting them first if they are compatible.
Insert then right click under My Computer and choose Format > Quick Format. (it may not be too quick).

i have used these disks before but only on photos or text not video,is nero any good or should i get roxiomydvd

I burn DVD's with Nero Express without any problem.
Two things you might want to check regarding the XP built in CD burner conflict:
Right click the DVD/CD drive then click Properties then Recording
Uncheck: Allow CD burning on this drive
This only shuts off the XP burner which is often a source of conflict.
Also go to Services: start Run... services.msc
And disable: IMAPI CD burning...
Again this is the XP CD burner. If you have Nero there is no use for it and it often conflicts.
