Screen Problems

I have a Dell C400 laptop. I was fooling around with the screen resolution and I increased it from 600x480 to 800x400. It prompted me to reboot the computer, which I did. Then after the windows boot screen, the display goes blank, and shows nothing, and no progresssion is made. Is there a way I can fix this?? Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Screen Problems

edit: it was the resolution of the adapter that I changed.

Re: Screen Problems

Try booting into Safe Mode options:

After the power-on and BIOS POST or your Logo screen repeatedly tap the F8 key or hold the Ctrl key before Windows starts.

Then try either a System Restore or else adjusting your settings from the same location as before.

Re: Screen Problems

Jephree thank you so much, it worked perfectly. However, why can't I change my screen resolution to anything larger than 600x480? I try to adjust the resolution, but nothing happens. I am running 16 color mode. Thanks again.

Re: Screen Problems

Most likely you need to reload your graphics drivers.

Look under Display or perhaps Video Adapter is more relevant.

Do you recognize your particular device?
