mason88 Is a beginner here at D-A-L
ethernet problems

could anyone tell me where to get drivers for the motorola surfboard sb5100 cable modem, i had to re install xp and now its sayin the ethernet controller doesnt work, i am currently using a USB wire to connect to the internet however i need to set up a wireless router and i cant use this USB wire

if you're using Ethernet you shouldn't need drivers for the modem.

what make ethernet card have you got in the PC?

have you powered down the PC and modem then powered up again

i dont know, its on the back of the pc, the computer is an AMD Athlon XP 2800+, 2.08 GHz 384MB RAM, and is a TIME manufactured one.

I should imagine if it's a newish PC then the LAN socket is part of the mainboard.

when you go to device manager and click on network adapter what does it say?
