show administrator at login

for some reason after bootup it doesn't go to a user account login screen, it goes directly to my user desktop. I want to set it up so I can log in as Administrator or my own user account. How can I get it to show both accounts for a choice of either one at bootup?
Thanks,Jim

Re: show administrator at login

start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way Users Log on or Off

Uncheck: Use the Welcome Screen

If you are using XP Home you can only access the built in Admin account from Safe Mode.

In Pro you can also use start Run... control userpasswords2

There check: Users must enter a user name and password...

Just as a By the way: it is generally advised not to use the main Admin account. This leaves it as an uncorrupted account for any problems in the future. You can create additional Admin accounts.

XP Home will not open!

When I boot up the pc it goes to a login screen displaying a dialog box asking for your user name and password. I enter them and it then says "This sytem could not log you on. Make ssre your user name and domain are correct. Then type your password again."
It wont accept any password. As far as it goes in the choices is Shut down, Restart, Standby, or Hibernate.
What do I need to do to get it to boot into XP Home????
Thanks, Jim

Re: show administrator at login

Is this in Safe Mode?

Did you ever set a password?

If not press Enter with a blank password box.

I am assuming this related to your previous thread so I merged them.

I thought that you wanted the login box?

Sorry if I was wrong.
