Frequent unidentifiable pop ups

I have a question and I hope you guys can help. Every 10 minutes or so, a blank window on the bottom appears for about a second. nothing appears on the screen, just on the bottom bar next to the Start button (where all your open programs are) While it appears, an hourglass appears on the mouse pointer, meaning that its loading something. Well, this problem gets really annoying and i wonder what it is and how I can remove it.

Re: Frequent unidentifiable pop ups

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware or software?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

If that doesn't help then:

As a first response you might want to post a HijackThis log for review by our Pros in that section:

Please follow the instructions HERE & then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section.

(Not in this section please).

Please specify what issues you appear to be experiencing along with your log.

No, this is not a new problem at all. I've been dealing with it probably since the beginning of 2006. I'm pretty sure everything is working ok, but (unrelated) when I try to make a movie in Movie Maker, It doesnt allow me to make a movie and on the bottom it says "Virtual Memory Low"

Yes I have tried system restore various times but it has never worked
