managers Is a beginner here at D-A-L
Locked computer

A friend's child has manged to lock their Laptop. There was no password originally and now a message appears saying that only the administrator can unlock the computer and this requires a password. Any help appreciated. Many hanks.......

Home or Pro?

In Home you may need to start in Safe Mode to access the built-in Admin account.

Try booting into Safe Mode options:

After the power-on and BIOS POST or your Logo screen repeatedly tap the F8 key or hold the Ctrl key before Windows starts. Choose Safe Mode.

If a password in either case was never set then just type:

User Name: Administrator

Password: (leave the box blank)

and hit Enter.

Many thanks will give this a go, i think that it is XP Home........
