system restore doesn't work

My system restore also doesn't work. It sets restore points, allows me to set restore points but when I try to use it it goes through the motions, reboots and then tells me it couldn't restore from that restore point...I pick another and get the same thing. Any ideas what's happening?

I run numerous adware, spyware removal programs and have my virus files up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To reset it turn it off then on again.

Right click My Computer then click Properties the System Restore.

Turm off > Turn On

This should reset the service.
