Blocking Sites

i recently found out a member of my family was approached online by what i geuss u could call a predator .... here are my questions running Windows XP

1. Can i just set her setting or block/allow her to only certain sites or does t have to be
done for all family members who use the computer.

2. Regardless of how it has to be done to block, how do u do it?

3. If its a messenger based program such as Yahoo Messenger, AIM or Windows
Messenger can that be configured to block out all unwarranted messages.

4. If so on # 3, again how do u do it ?

I want to get these blocked asap, so any help would be most gracious ...

Thank You

Re: Blocking Sites

OK, I sort of had the same problem, except different reasons.....but anyways, if you are the administrator, then you can set the untrusted sites or blocked sites through the Internet options.

It will also depend on what browser you are using (ex. if using Internet Explorer, its the way explained above.)

If it's AOL, then you can do it through the main account.

Using WIndows XP and Internet explorer, you can set her account by blocking all the sites by entering them into the block these sites. You can enter the name of the sites that you want to block. I'm not too sure if this would do it for all users, I haven't really tried it sense im not the admin for my computer. But try this solution and see if it works.
