Change cpu?

I have a Sony Viao PCV RX 860. It has a Pentium 4 2400 cpu with 1024mgz of ram. I run Photoshop Elements and would like to speed things up some. Would you recommend up grading the cpu? If so what would you recommend. It is a 2400, 478pin on a SIS651 mother board. The graphics card is a NVIDA geforce 4 mx 4000.

it may well be easier and cheaper upgrading the RAM you can add another 512MB
