TCP 80 (http) outbound.

Does anyone know if there's a way to block a program (banlist) from checking your ip origin and determining your country? I think banlist uses TCP 80 (http) outbound.

Re: TCP 80 (http) outbound.

Port 80 TCP is needed to connect to the internet and is not blockable.

I don't know as I've never used this particular software.

Re: TCP 80 (http) outbound.

"Anybody who plays Dota or another Warcraft III mod on battle.net knows that games are often plagued by griefers, leavers, and other bnet miscreants. If you want to have a good game of Dota, you’re going to need the tools to combat bad players."

They suggest using banlist, so if this is the use of the software, may I ask why you need to stop banlist from checking your IP origin and country? Unless you are referring to another program called banlist.

Re: TCP 80 (http) outbound.

My problem is that when the hosts type /fromall and see Sir_panda(MX) they say "OMG a mexican, he's gonna lag!" and immediately boot me. It gets pretty annoying because I get booted from 4 out of every 5 games I try to join. I ping around 125 and don't lag or get delay, and if you think about the distance between MX and US is relatively the same as between US and CA so i don't see the problem.

edit: actually i know what's the problem, it's stereotyping of mexicans thinking we are poor or wetbacks or beaners or a million other things. That's why I want to block it.
