disabling the e-mail mcfee av scan

how do i disable the mcfee av scan i need step by step please
the problem i have is every time i log on in the morning i have to go back take out 127.00.0 so my email will come in
the thing is i dont know if my program stay there so i have to go back and check it all the time to make sure it on proprely and my will come in
they say if i disable the mcfee av it will stay program
i need help am not to good with computer am to old 62 only 1 year with computer and no school
