prob with digi cam

Hi, hope someone can help with this, firstly i recently installed my digital camera driver onto my system (xp) but it doesn't seem to be working at all. I go into my computer click on "I" drive and then a window pops up telling me that "I" isn't accessible because of an I/0 device error, even though my camera has a fully charged battery, and secondly on the rare occasion i do get into my cam the pics on it don't show up at all apart from one and that was barely recognisable...any ideas?
