deleting problem
I am trying to delete a folder on my C drive. Everytime I try, a message pops up saying "Error deleting {FOLDER}: The drive is not empty." The C drive the folder is on is obviously not empty as all of my folders and documents and such are on this drive. When I try to open the folder, a message pops up saying "This drive is not properly formatted. Do you want to format now?" I clicked no the first time and then tried again. The second time the same message popped up again and I clicked yes to see what else i could do. THen it said that if i were to formatt the C drive, everything on it would be deleted. I really don't want that to happen, so what do I do? Move everything on my C drive to my backup drive and then format it? Or am I in big trouble? thanks.

Re: deleting problem
What is this folder?
You are right that you do not want to format over a single folder.
The behavior you describe is very strange which leads me to ask just what this folder is?

Re: deleting problem
It's an artist folder under my music files. I added an album to this particular artist one day and then it started acting up the next. I use iTunes and when i clicked on one of the songs, an exclamation point popped up next to it saying that the original file of the song could not be found and would i like to find it now? I found it and when I tried to open the artist folder, it asked to format the drive. All of the songs for only this artist came up missing, even songs previously added in the past. It has never happened before and I never moved any folders or files regarding my music.

Re: deleting problem
I've also used moveonbot, but i guess it wouldn't be helpful here.
i guess Privacy Expert can delete ur folder.
It's trial version that is free for 15 days.
Try it out.

Re: deleting problem
Thanks so much for all of your help, but none of those worked. I would have to buy the full version of the software and I don't want to have to do that for just one folder. To answer the other questions, the direct path is something along the lines of C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music|Gym Class Heroes\ and the path doesn't differ from other music folders. But anways, I tried the moveonboot software and it didn't delete the folder after i rebooted. The Delete FXP files said i needed to buy the full version of the software in order to delete 'Recursive files' or something like that. Finally, i tried the acronis software. I used the File Shredder and it seemed like it was working. Then at the end, under the tasks completed, nothing was there. It's like the folder is undeletable. Is it worth buying some software to delete this folder? Is it harmful if I just leave the folder on my computer and create a new one? I haven't added any music to my computer in the past few days for fear of losing more folders. It is so frustrating because I just can't do anything about it. Thanks so much for all of the help!

Re: deleting problem
I would guess that leaving the folder would not affect anything.
I also know it is annoying. I found the FXP program after several months of a ghost undeletable file on my desktop. It just bothered me.
You might try the FXP and go file by file from within the folder. Once the folder is empty it might delete. The free version will only delete one file at a time.
The strange thing here is the C: drive errors. I have never seen this before.
You could also move everything from My Music to a new folder and then Delete My Music. Then go back and recreate My Music.
Or create a new iTunes folder such as NewITunes and move everything there except the problem folder then delete iTunes and go back afterwards and rename again.

Re: deleting problem
Thanks so much for that advice. All I did was create another iTunes folder and everything seems to be working fine. If anything comes to mind about how to get rid of that folder, that would be great, but everything is working fine now. Thanks!
