Re: System Restore

Metalite

I believe that quite a large amount of spare space on your hard-drive is needed for Sys Restore to operate; around 200mb.

In order to find out exactly, go to, Start\Help & Support Centre and type in 'System Restore' (no quote marks). All the gen is available therein.

Mind you there could be another problem too, my system HD has 25gbs of free space and I don't get more than one Restore Point, whereas on my wife's machine she has far less space and can go back quite a few weeks or months. Whether it is yet another MS XP bug I have no idea?

Re: System Restore

It may have been saved and later deleted, your memory if it runs low, the system deletes the system restore points, you may have deleted them using some other software unknowingly, you have set it to delete restore points older than a certain number of days... etc

To check Restore Points saved, to System Restore in Accessories>System Tools, proceed with instructing it that you want to restore. It will leave you to a screen that will show you the system restore points as dates that are highlighted in bold on the left and on the right the info of when it was created will be given.

If you don't have any there, you won't have any saved.
