PC shuts down when scanning

Whenever I do any sort of antivirus or anti spy/adware program my computer shuts down. I can use any other programs just nothing that scans. It does the routine chkdsk at start up, but that is uneffected.

note: I tryed doing some sort of scan in Safe Mode, but that was useless

You might want to read this post and follow the instructions:

Then start a new thread in that section.

If they clear your log then please come back here and we can search further.

Well, I did the whole AdAware thing, and it found 14 things. I rebooted, then went to do a SpyBot S&D scan and my pc crashed 15% of the way into the scan as usual.

I suggest posting a HijackThis log in the HijackThis section.
