Installing xp problems :(

When i install xp to my hard drive i keep geting an error of missing files from cd.

I used to have xp on here but i gut new parts and am re-installing xp on there. So i re-formated the harddrive and now everythn is deleted. But all goes fine but after it starts to install xp at about 9% it says its missin files from the cd, it gives you the skip option and i skipped it but there are about 50 missin files?? pls help me. Is there something wrong with the cd because its like brand new!

This all happens when its at the blue screen with is like a dos look, not the xp setup screen, any1 pls help me!!

first im doing the reformat but the long version not the quick one, so this might work. If this doesnt i just install it and skip all those problems then do the same thing but instead of do a fresh install do a repair install??

Is the repair install self explanitory?? or is it tricky?

but the thing is why does it miss the files?? how come it cant find them and then how come when you repair it it finds them?? or is it just one of those dumb questions which has no answer?

What type of CD are you using?

Is it a retail Microsoft XP CD?

Or is it an OEM CD?

Or some type of Recovery CD?
