Windows explorer/media player closing

Hi, im not entirely sure what section to put this in so i hope its in the right place here.
Whenever i open up my documents and attempt to play the majority of my videos in there in windows media player they both keep closing. A box will pop up and say they have encountered an error and need to close.
I can play the videos fine with other players but windows explorer will still shut down then.
I get this at the detailed section of the error screen if it helps "The following files will be included in this report : C:\DOCUME~1\Temp\9321_appcompat.txt"
It only seems to of started happening after i upgraded to WMP11 but ive gone back to WMP10 and it still does it.
Ive ran ad-aware/spybot and AVG and they didnt seem to pick anything up.

Re: Windows explorer/media player closing

Did you send the error report to Microsoft?

Can you locate and open: C:\DOCUME~1\Temp\9321_appcompat.txt

You could also try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Re: Windows explorer/media player closing

In answer to your first 2 questions, i didnt send an error report, should i? And i cant seem to locate the actual file anywhere.
I just tried again and it was also coming up saying that Dr watson postmortem debugger had to close as well, what is that?
I tried using sytem restore but it wouldnt work for some reason, would reboot but say it couldnt restore to the date i wanted even though it said it was available to restore to that date.

Re: Windows explorer/media player closing

It seems to be working ok now.
I unistalled ffdshow which ive had for ages with no problems so i could install a newer version. It wouldnt let me download a new version though so i thought id see how things would work without it expecting things to be worse but everything appears to work fine
