you can set up a static ip address, which gives you an ip and keeps it as that, no assigning needed.
To do this;
Control Panel>Network Connections>
right click on the network that is "aqquiring address", select properties, and double click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
Fill the "use the following IP address" box, and type an ip, any ip, eg 192.168.111.71 and in subnet mask you need to have all the pc's on ur lan using the same one of these. Default is 255.255.255.0 This might help you.
