Delay when ordering PC to shut down.

Hi D-A-L crew!

I've just reformated my harddrive and setted up my system again but when using Windows XP, when I give the order to shut-down there is a big delay w/o any hard disk activity or anything else untill it starts to shutdown.

I don't have any idea of what might be causing it, spyware/virus? Absolutely not, I've merely used the internet on that PC.

Any suggestions?

Manually close all applications running in your System Tray on the Taskbar (by the clock). See if that makes a difference.

You can also open the Task Manager as you shutdown and monitor the Processes tab for what applications continue to run or not respond.
