Help I've got tonnes of adaware i think it is??

Hi,

I've recently had a complete rebuild and a copy of Mcafee installed but i am forever getting nasty little boxes pop up asking me to download this and that and i dont know if its genuine, i get loads of pages opening up and getting through aswell. Is there anything i can install that is trustworthy please?

McAfee is always doing this, its a company thing, its one of the most annoying for downloading updates of definitions etc. if you don't want to do it you can drag the window, and then if you place the top of it on the start bar and click on your desktop the window disappears (until you next logon anyway) but i would recommend you would install some of these updates, McAfee is good for updates, as it always keeps you up to date, although i only turn my McAfee on when i am going to run a virus test, bit risky but hey =)

then of course there's the Free AV scanner, AVG. quite good.

however if you're looking for paid subscriptions AV software, i'd recommend Kaspersky. really good.
