Unhappy Attachments in OE using XP

All my incoming E mails are marked as having attachments even when they haven't. If I open them they just have the original E mail. Those that really do have attachments are fine. I can open and read attachments without any problem. The problem is irritating rather than serious but help would be appreciated

Re: Attachments in OE using XP

Do you run AVG anti virus? AVG and some other anti virus often add a message at the bottom of the email
Quote:
No virus found in this incoming message.
Also messages forwarded from people will show this as an attachment as it was added after the original message.

Re: Attachments in OE using XP

You can go to the AVG control centre, click view and select extended mode. Once that is done scroll down to email centre, click once and select the properties button down the bottom. Once the plugins window is open, click configure and untick certify incoming and outgoing mail. This will not stop AVG scanning it will just stop it attaching the virus free message.
