Computer bust up

Hey
My computer had been running pretty slow for a long time and everynow and again it would have an svhost in the proces window of the task manager that would take up 100% of the cpu, i thought nohting of it as i could just end the process and my computer would carry on working.

However i downloaded a free anti-spyware and anti-virus thing that found a lot more than my normal one and it found 7 trojans and various other bits and peices and secussfully ggot rid of them. So far so good.

But now i think they have corrupted some of the files of my computer. I boot up and after about 2 minutes of being on the desktop (of which is not enough time to do anything significant) my computer locks up and crashes and i have to reboot.

I have managed to boot my computer up into safe mode and i looked at my event logger thing and it said that the microsoft security centre was the last thing to run before my computer locks up. Everytime i look at the even logger of when my computer last crashed it would have the security system there.

Now before i managed to turn off the security as everytime i hovered over the automatic update my computer wold crash and my computer worked okay then. But my brother thought he could solve it and turned the automatic updates back on and now my compuer is useless unless it's in safe mode.

I know its a long winded story and i've tried to give as much detail as possible about my situation. If you need anymore info please ask and i will try my best to provide you with it.

So can anyone give my any help please with this because my computer is in ruins at the moment and i was wondering whether i would actually be able to fix it with the help of people off this fantastic website or would it just be better to try and re-install sp2 or possibly do a complete format.

Lots of help required pleeeeease

(oh and IE hasn't been at the best of health either)

Please follow the instructions >> Here << and then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware section. (Not here please). with a brief explanation of what the symptoms are

Well i kinda can't. as i said i get 2 minutes on my desktop and i can't do anything in that time as the computer is still loading. I can access it in safe mode but i'm guessing that's useless if you want to see what's going on in my computer at normal boot up.

However i shall try my best to run my H.t and get the logfile back asap

I use spybot S+D and adaware anyway so they won't show anything

Hey

I've just tried to run HJT and my computer will boot up normally and i will run it asap with the sortcut on my desktop. But as it gets to the end of the scan HJT has an error or something and stops working and i have to end the program. I then try and run it again but my computer locks up before i have time to do so.

I have already replaced my HJT file in safe mode with an unzip file from another computer to make sure i have a healthy working one and it works fine. I've tried it it safe mode and no problems at all. But in normal boot up mode it stops and has to be ended before the end of the scan and doesn't save a log.

Should i still take this to the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and hijack logs?

Please help and reply asap
