Exclamation computer freezes after 10-20 mins after turning on.

computer freezes after 10-20 mins after turning on. but then if i leave my p c off all night.. and go on in the morning.. it seems 2 last longer and doesnt freeze as quickly. i have reformated and done virus scans..but its stil the same. the harddrive light stops flassing and the whole computer freezes. help!!! what could this be!!

are your fans working? have you checked for overheating? what hardware do you have? (motherboard, CPU, Graphics card...)

this can be found out using belarc advisor

not sure about fans and overheating.. dont have a clue how to check!.... help!!!!

computer freezes after 10-20 mins after turning on.

i turn my pc on,and after 5-10 minutes..the computer will freeze.but if i leave my computer off for a few hours..then turn it on..it doesnt freeze up for at least 20 minutes.. i have reformatted but its still the same.. please help

Exclamation broken fan??

my computer freezes soon after i turn it on . but if it is off for a while, then turned on.. it lasts longer b4 it freezes up. i have a feeling its the fan. but if the fan was broke, wouldnt the computer shut down..not freeze up??

it might be the capacitors. they are little cylynders around the heatsink and fan. check if there is or has been any yellow liquid leaking from any of them. if so then im sure that will be it.

even bulging capacitors can be a problem..... the picture below shows leaking capacitors:



When they are leaking, they usualy have a bad smell... if they explode, the smoke has a really bad smell!!!!

one reason you may be having problems is the amount of RAM you've got, 224MB, I can't see a graphics card so that RAM will be doing everything.

you may have a heat problem has the machine got good airflow?
