Windows installer!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope somebody can help.

Every time I try to install anything onto my computer, it gets to the point of starting to install, then a message pops up saying:
another installation is in progress. you must complete that installation before continuing with this one.

As far as I can tell there is nothing installing.

are you by any chance clicking twice on the install button?.

this can cause this message to come up, as it's already running.

Just a thought.

Try and download the latest Winxp loader. I think that it is version 3?

Staleloaf, forget that brilliant idea. You require the latest Wndows Installer. I only have it because when I tried to install a programme recently, I was told to download the latest one.

Maybe Jephree can assist you in finding it?

Thanks for the info. I have tried the installer clean up and when it gets to the installing point I get an error box saying:

Error 1500. another installation is in progress. you must complete that installation before continuing with this one.

I need to find out what it is it is trying to install. Any ideas how I do this?
