Recovery from serious error

This has happened several times over the last few weeks.

This is the error message I got

BCCode : 19 BCP1 : 00000020 BCP2 : E19369B0 BCP3 : E1936A08
BCP4 : 0C0B0201 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1

I followed the MS debugging install and ran debug wiz

This is the text I got:

Opened log file 'c:\debuglog.txt'

Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.7.0005.0
Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

Loading Dump File [c:\WINDOWS\Minidump]
Could not open dump file [c:\WINDOWS\Minidump], Win32 error 0n5
"Access is denied."

The only recent change was a video card.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Recovery from serious error

That was triggered by Windows Defender.

Have you used this program prior to these problems?

Re: Recovery from serious error

Those two were nearly identical.

Quote:
0x00000019: BAD_POOL_HEADER
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A pool header issue is a problem with Windows memory allocation. Device driver issues are probably the most common, but this can have diverse causes including bad sectors or other disk write issues, and problems with some routers. (By theory, RAM problems would be suspect for memory pool issues, but I haven’t been able to confirm this as a cause.)
If this problem coincided with a new graphics card I would suspect that first.

Did you uninstall any previous graphics drivers and then install new drivers?

Also does the card share your on-board RAM?

What is the make and model of the card?

Re: Recovery from serious error

As far as I know it does not share RAM.

7300 GTS 512 MB

I reinstalled the latest drivers just to see what would happen.

Thanks for all the help!

Re: Recovery from serious error

Minimum requirements for that card:

Quote:
Minimum System Requirements

IBM PC or IBM PC Compatible System
Intel Pentium II/III/4, AMD K6/K7 CPU or higher
One Available PCI Express slot
CD/DVD-ROM Drive
Minimum 512MB System Memory
Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Minimum of a 400 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 18 Amp Amps.)
Some cards of that type share system memory when you go from 256 to 512 but this does not state that. As long as you have at least 512 on board.

Your dumps were indicating a memory connection is why I was asking.
