Smile StartUp Run

I have just downloaded a program named StartUp Run. It tells me that there are 28 programs which start up every time I turn my computer on.
I am at loss what to do now. Can somebody tell me which ones I can disable? Can I disable all of them? My computer starts slow. I dont understand why there is any need for programs like Adobe or Roxio to be in my StartUp menu.
Help.

Re: StartUp Run

Go to start Run... msconfig

Then open the "Startup" tab.

All these programs were added by third party apps. Most are updaters. Of course somewhere in there will be your AntiVirus and Firewall.

You can unclick all of them save AV and Firewall.

If you ever wish to restore the item go back and re-check it.

This is the built-in XP method. I know there are several programs like you have but I am not familiar in particular with StartUp Run so I suggest the XP way.

On your first reboot you will be warned that you are in a diagnostic mode. Just click the box that says "Don't show me this again".
