Cant get sound 2 work (i kno there is already a post about this)

hi,
i kno sum1 has had ths problem but anyway here i go
i cant get my pc sound 2 work ive tried everythin i can think of and advice 2 other people but still cant manage 2 get it to work
askin me 4 a HDA audio driver i think and a mixer device
i hav a asus a7v600-x motherboard which the sound card is included in i think (not to sure on tht tho any help wud be appreciated

have you any discs that came with the motherboard?

have you added any hardware or software since it last worked?

i did hav a disk with my motherboard but cant find it anywhere,

i formated my pc which made me nt hav the sound drivers, i downloaded somethin 4 it ac real tek or sumthin like tht which i dont think is the correct thing nw :S then (yesterday) i went to asus website downloaded what i thought might hav been the correct file but still no luck
do u think its worth reformatin my pc again then tryin to download all the correct drivers?

i did unistall the real tek program but every time i restart my comp update the driver it puts the same one bck on and says windows cant match it or sumthin continue or stop installation
sorry for this bein so long when i cud of done it in 3 lines

did you format and reinstall using the XP disc?

i download about 3 or 4 things from the audio section the other day wud i need another 1 from a different section?
