What exactly do you mean by "XP 2007" and how did you "upgrade it"?

Is the drive new or does it contain data?

If new did you format it?

Re: plug n play not working after upgrading windows

if that does not work go to administrative tools From there select "services"
It will load a list of all the services running, or not, on your PC.
Look for the one named "Universal Plug And Play Device Host" if it says automatic, leave it be. If it says "manual" or "disabled", double click it and from that menu set it to automatic, then select "start." It will start the process.
also look for "plug and play" should be automatic
"SSDP discovery service" should be manual
"windows media player network service" should be manual

one of the two posts should help
