windows xp help

hi

I want to reformat and reinstall my computer (windows xp home) and i have the cd for it but my hard drive D and E just disappeared and none of my cd's are working. Do I have to download one from the internet or what?

Are you saying the XP CD will not boot?

Is your CD drive set in the BIOS to boot prior to the HDD?

oh no, it does boot, but none of my cd's work. on my computer, i think my cd drives d and e got erased. i think it happened after i used system restore
